She already had her kits!!!
(Guess that's what I get for having my husband check her nest lately!)
There were 9 total, but 2 were very small and dead. The 7 left are much bigger & wiggling around.
Fortunately my doe is very tame & handled a lot.
I have an empty hutch, but it's supposed to get cold tonight with all the rain, so I have her & her babies in a large dog crate in my bathroom.
Put down fresh hay, but moved the live babies with her fur.
Mom got a little wet from the rain so dried her off real well & put her with the babies.
Lots of fresh water, feed, & sliced up an pple- her favorite.
She doesn't seem to mind being moved, or me handling her babies. She ate the apples out of my hands. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Definitely need to separate the pen.
I'll see if I can take a pic....
Wow that's alot of excitement in such a short period of time. Best of luck.

my little lilac holland buck named Leo *this was taken back when he was 8 weeks he's now 16 weeks^

I wouldn't mind having lilacs, I'm REALLY into genetics. I can't wait to get my doe, I'm hoping to get a 2 year old so she can have babies a few days after she gets here!

They're actually pretty simple once you really study them. If you need me too, I can explain them to you through PM's?

I will watch out for it,and I was wandering how far along(if she's pregnant) can I put a handful of straw in her cage and see if she starts carrying it around or trying to make a nest with it to see if she's pregnant???

I just had a doe carry straw and pull her fur made a great looking nest and she did not have any kits This was false pregnancy the other two does between her cage had kits I think she sensed that.
oh well it was her first try Now its getting warmer I will breed her again . it should work successfully this time . hope yours work out for the best.
