What size container could a citrus tree and/or olive tree stay in forever?

In the future I plan to get some patio trees that I saw at TSC (Olive, Kumquat, and Citrus). When I look this up everything I find just says to start in a 5 gal and increase container size every few years. Is their a container I could keep them in forever? Thanks,

You shouldn't plant anything in a pot that is too large. It's always advised to plant in an appropriate sized pot for a plant, and pot up as necessary. Too big of a pot can cause root rot or roots to dry out too quickly.

It can be difficult to keep plants alive for many years in containers, but once you figure out what each needs it becomes easier.
