He sounds like an amazing dog!! I used to really want a springer and still do some day but they seem like so much work! So hyper and full of energy lol

How do you suppose he ended up in a kill shelter when he was 10 months old? He was a nut! But so smart![/QUOTE]

Awww poor guy. :(

Glad he found a home with you though!! They do seem like smart dogs.

We were his foster family and couldn’t resist his silly self! He was our only dog to earn an obedience title but got kicked out of three agility classes! I mean by three different instructors! He did agility demos like a pro, though.

Ahhh that makes sense. Sadly they probably all have by now. :(
No, not really. Field trialing, both afoot & horseback, is very popular. Like the Irish Setter, the English Pointer, and most any other breed of bird dog you can name, there's a vast difference in the conformation of show dogs vs. field dogs, plus the show lines, in a lot of cases, couldn't find their feed bowl if they were blindfolded & had to rely on their nose.

Awww I probably would have kept him too!!! And that is awesome!! But wow kicked out!? How come? Haha weird he was able to get an obedience title so clearly trained/well behaved but still got kicked out haha

Well yeah, that’s what I was saying, that now there are probably show lines in all of them that have all had the hunt bred out. Of course working lines are different and people are probably still breeding for those but I thought that you had said that before there really weren’t show lines of the English ones yet?? And the hunt hadn’t been bred out yet? So that’s what I was saying, now they probably have i.e. now there probably are show lines if not mostly being bred for show and you have to work to find the working lines.

Yeah. He was easily distracted. :lau

I think Golden doodles are absolutely amazing dogs; I've never owned one myself but the ones I have met all have very even temperments, high energy, so so friendly, non agressive, quiet, no shed. The are medium size though.

You can get them slightly smaller though. People are using miniature poodles fo the doodle half and some of them are little.

That is true. They have different size levels. 3 or 4 sizes I believe. Standard, of course, and also medium and smaller ones. I think it’s toy, mini, medium, and standard, for both labradoodles and goldendoodles. I know someone that just recently got an Australian Labradoodle and it’s pretty small.
