Just about any breed that has been or is extremely popular is going to suffer agression and other problems due to the indiscriminate breeding of the puppy mills to satisfy the demand. Do your homework & seek out the better bloodlines; they're out there.

There is, incidentally, a strong possibility that your barker will teach the other dog to be a barker. Puppies, like most animals, learn by observing the adults around them.

I love chihuahuas they say they are mean but they reall aren’t Beagles are amazing too. And so are basset hounds and pompskees

I raised Irish Setters for many years, campaigning them in field trials, handling from horseback, against English Pointers & Setters. It was a tough row to hoe, to be sure. The show-bred Irish couldn't compete against them; we had to bring English Setter blood into the mix. We called them Red Setters, to differentiate them from the show dogs, but they were still registered as Irish Setters in both AKC & FDSB...they truly were two different breeds.

My heart dog was an English Springer Spaniel most likely from field lines. He was the best dog I’ve ever owned. He was funny and smart. I miss him every day.

He sounds like an amazing dog!! I used to really want a springer and still do some day but they seem like so much work! So hyper and full of energy lol

Hello all,
I'm interested in getting a small breed of dog and I really love Basset Hounds, their saggy faces, long ears, etc.. Who can resist?
However I really don't like that hounds tend to run and always have their noses to the ground..
I was also walking a beagle once and she was literally dragging me all over the property following scents and I even lost control of her one time and she got away. (She was caught luckily) But anyway are Basset hounds the same way? They just seem like the lazy stubborn type to me that don't really care about smelling everything and running all over.. But I really want to know others experiences and opinions. Are they easy to walk on a leash? I'm looking for a small breed of dog that is social and well behaved around other people and dogs without being territorial and barking at them.. I would love some breed suggestions as well.

I really liked my Pugs. They are cute and very affectionate. If you decide to look at a Pug, be sure to check out the parents and make sure they are not snorters.

From what I've read, CKC spaniel, French bull dog, and haveneese all seem be "quite" lap dogs.

How do you suppose he ended up in a kill shelter when he was 10 months old? He was a nut! But so smart!
