What snake is this skin from?

My mom has tons of snakes in her yard, we have seen 3 in the 14 years we've lived here. Between the ducks, the peafowl, and the cats the poor things don't have a chance.. I almost feel sorry for them. Except water snakes, they can all die.

Chickens too! But when they get big they'll go after more than your eggs. I had a 4' black rat snake try to eat a silkie hen in the coop at night and failed (sadly she didn't live through the failed attempt). Took me like 5 minutes to figure out what happened to her because she was all matted down... but when I looked up at the top roost and saw all 4' of that snake wrapped around the stick, I was like... oh dear, yeah that would be the issue.

I saw a beetle outside last month when I went outside at night and It was the size of a baseball! I'm not kidding! I live in Iowa, not the Amazon! I ran into the house and shut the door, lol!

HAHAHA. If it was the size of a baseball you should have caught it because it was worth some money! Pretty sure the biggest US-based beetle is the Hercules Beetle, they're kind of yellowy-gold or a stag beetle. I think they get to 3"... but if I saw a 3" beetle I'd for sure think it was the size of a baseball!

As for the snake friend, we easily caught it (black snakes are pretty chill actually) and re-homed it about 15 miles away by the lake.

Explain that »if they're small enough« to Blanca Duck! I found her once with the head of a snake in her bill and the other end wrapped around her neck. That snake was ~1m (3') long and boy was she upset when i threw that snake down the hill…

I just had a flash back when I was 12 my brother and his friend came outside. I was on the hammock and it was night time. I went to go check on frank (my perfect kc) and his wife and all I hear is “KYA! SNAKE!” And I look behind me and there’s this LONG LONG “snake”. So then my brother ran and oh, apparently the “snake” chased him. Until I caught up with the “snake” and grabbed the “snake” and threw it at my brother i knew it was a black rope the entire time.
His friend said that was the worst prank he had ever seen

I never had a problem with snakes till I came here to the Ozarks and found TWO as big as my entire LEG in my hen house. Thank goodness I haven't seen any that big since. After that I said I had left Earth and landed on Planet MO.
