Just wondering what sort of eggs the buff sussex lays because people seem to have varied eggs and opinions.

We're glad to have you. I've never had Buff Sussex, but I believe that they lay cream or light brown colored eggs.

You may have to pose this to the Sussex thread to get your best answer. I think the buff is pretty rare in the states. I assume the breed lays a similar egg across the colors? Our 2 Speckled lay a very light buff brown egg. Some days it is almost light enough to be called tinted. They've only been laying a few months so size has been a little small - 1.75-1.9 oz with an occasional 2.0. I imagine the 2.0 oz large size will become more common as they get a little older. They will be 1 year in April.

Our Sussex eggs are the light ones in the middle and are average color. We do get some lighter ones.
