What Special Treat or Yummy Did Your Flock Get Today?

My girls got some leftover lambchop meat and some mashed potatos

they LOVED it!

I have been reading so much about BOSS so I went and bought some for my girls. They are very suspicious so far. Lol do you suppose 8 week old chicks can eat them?
Since it us such a warm day today I decided to get a big watermelon and give the end to the chickens. They get much more excited over corn... Maybe when they figure put how yummy it is they will chow down. My little kids are devouring the watermelon. Juice running down to their elbows! Lol

It took my girls about a week to adjust to BOSS

Also their tastes seem to develope as they get older. My girls hated slugs and snails and now won't let one pass without munching on some escargo haha.

Some crumbs from the bottom of a Honey Cheerios box--tossed them in with the pine shavings so they stirred those up too.

The girls got:

A fresh tomato from the garden
Several slice of watermelon
A handful of Japanese beetles that I picked off the beans...

they ate the tomato first - their absolute favorite treat:)

Our girls are pet bantams; never more than 3, so they can afford to be choosy.
Favs:
ALL of them ADORE chopped pecans. They'll make a "runner" sit happily in your lap.
Emily Chickensen's fav: Cooked shrimp, pecans, cooked fish, centipedes (raw and wiggling...), sips of Mom's mango smoothie.
Crystal: Pecans and fish, Dad's ham sandwiches, PBJ on heavy whole wheat, parakeet fruit treat, and small amounts canary/finch seed treat.
Lydia: Pecans PBJ on heavy whole wheat, and SMALL amounts of canary/finch treat. Disdains fish.

Having a plate of food outdoors is an Alfred Hitchcock scene at our house!
