I have been trading with a local veggie vendor this summer. I give him a dozen eggs and he gives me tomatoes, watermelon, cantelope, peaches to give to the chickens. These could be just slightly bruised or the watermelon might have a crack in it so he cannot sell them. My girls have been very happy this summer.

Last night mine got stale sun dried tomato tortilla, frozen watermelon rind and BOSS. They know what the "red bowl" is when I come outside. My roo even crows when he sees me pull into the driveway. Spoiled? Nooooooooo...

I did a stir-fry tonight using some leftover London broil that I trimmed the fat off of so the birds got all that. 8/9-week old chicks still don't know I bring treats though so they lost out--again.

Bread and conrmeal mush. They snatch the bread out of my hand and they loooovveee the cornmeal mush!

Cantelope rinds.
Chopped cooked leftover green beans.
Some scrambled egg left over from egg wash to make fried fish.
And some left over fried bass.

Is feeding fish OK for chickens.
It is a rare that we have leftovers so it wouldn't happen often.
Does fish affect the taste of eggs or of chickens themselves if they get a lot of it?
