What statistics make a show quality silky??

According to the American Standard of Perfection, the main silkie disqualifications are:
-Bright red comb, face, and wattles
-Shanks not truly feathered down outer sides
-Feathers not truly silkie (except in primaries, secondaries, leg, toe, and Main tail feathers)
-Vulture Hocks (I'm not exactly sure what that is, something to do with a few breeds of feather-legged bantams)
Another disqualification not mentioned in the Standard is the absence of the fifth toe.

Each variety (color) may have it's own disqualifications. The currently recognized silkie varieties are black, white, blue, partridge, buff, gray, and splash. All can be either bearded or non-bearded, except splashes, which are only recognized as bearded.

Overall, the fluffier and silkier the silkie, the better quality they arem

Is that what you were looking for? Notice: I was partly quoting from the Standard. Hope I helped!

The currently recognized silkie varieties are
I believe they recently added lavender as an accepted color.

In the US there is only one standard calling for bantam. In the UK they have both standard and bantam varieties.

They should also have a walnut comb and be crested.

It should mean they cull any of those defects stated by the other poster from their flock instead of breeding forward undesired genetics,

The blue ear lobes are one of my favorite things to see on Silkies! :love

We also got one with aa pronounced crest.QUOTE="EggSighted4Life, post: 22907748, member: 415725"]
