I have no idea what the hen looked like she wasn't there.
I also want to point out that I don't make a point of "stealing" eggs but it was that or they were going to be plowed under in a field.
I made the decision to incubate them, right or wrong. I think in my area the wildlife department is pretty lenient about things like this as last spring a young boy was in the papers who found 3 eggs and brought them home and hatched them in a homemade bator. Then they kept them in their bath tub for 3 months. They weren't approached by the wildlife department and our newspaper followed the whole story.
I suppose they could be some kind of cross breed. A lot of people keep domestic ducks around here.
