So, I'm having a little trouble knowing what time to let my chickens out in the morning. I would like to know how other people do their coops. So the question I want everyone to answer is: What time do you let your chickens out in the morning?

I usually get up between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. So....... :D

Thanks guys!

I have an automatic door that opens right around daylight. I set it and forget it until the days start getting longer. Then set it and forget it again! Most of the girls are up and out within fifteen minutes of the door opening, but a few can’t see as well in the low light. This time of year, everyone’s out in the run by 0745, even on cloudy days.

I do always “tuck the girls in” every evening, just to make sure no one gets locked out.

My hens refuse to lay in their nest boxes if they free range all day, so I let them out anywhere from 11am to 2pm, depending on how many eggs I’ve collected the previous day.

But from coop to run, the opening to their coop is always open leading to their run, so they go in and out of there as they please.
