what to do w/ extra males

during the breeding season can you place extra males together in a pen by themselves, or will they still fight? i would like to hang on to them, but don't yet have enough females to everybody happy.

i was thinking of getting a call back cage to catch a few wild quail to add to the flock, has any one tried to catch a few extra quail this way? and do you place a male or female in the call back cage if you want to catch more females, or does it matter?
