What to do with ducks with an impending hurricane?

Tomorrow the rest of the garage gets cleared out. Plastic tarps will be cleaned, and laid on the garage floor, cages & pens will be set up on the tarps. If/When Dorian hits, my 25 chickens will be safely tucked inside my garage. This is not the first hurricane I've done this.
I will be setting up my garage also for my horses to go inside. Then I e decided to place the ducks in one of our bathrooms with tarp and fencing around it and on top so they don’t fly out or try to. My prayers to all in the path of this hurricane and may we all stay safe along with our family and pets.

So latest update this morning is it's getting bigger and now they are saying that it's going to hit somewhere on the east coast still but it's going to shoot up the middle and go north. I'm so worried and scared we don't live in a block house we live in a mobile home and I've never been through a hurricane here. The last hurricane took the whole side off the trailer next to us and that's not comforting. We lose power here with thunderstorms that come in. Prayers are so welcome thank you all :hit
That doesn't sound good! Can and would you evacuate? If you can you should probably head north today! I'm just west of Atlanta and I don't know you but if you want we've got room and room for ducks too. I can even separate them from mine easily! We've got 2 border collies too so dogs aren't a problem either. In fact, if it were up to me you could take one of them back home with you!

Wow that is so nice of you, I didn't think there were still people left in the world like you and a lot of other people on here. If i do evacuate I will definitely keep your offer in mind you are an amazing person thank you so much :hugs

I'm 7 hours from Orlando. Don't wait too long because there will be a mass exodus!

As of 11AM update looks like we may not get the direct hit at KSC/Merritt Island. Regardless, there will be days long major rain/ wind event and prep is priority. People have been pretty nuts here on the island for the past few days too. Per usual, I expect we really won’t know what’s up until Monday morning.
As much as our ducks may enjoy the flood ponds and fish overflowing ponds - BEWARE☠️. It’s the high risk of botulism after the storms that takes a toll. Keep your ducks penned until water recedes and you have time to police the grounds for decaying “treats”. After a flooding event last summer I lost 5 ducks and 1 drake to botulism within 24 hrs.

How are you holding up? I'm a big ball of nerves this is such a scary looking storm and when I hear they don't know where it's gonna go of course that scares us all even more. I wanted to tell you that you all are in my prayers and hope things are ok as much as they can be at this time :hugs We are definitely in the same boat I'm not that far from Orlando, I live in Lakeland and right now I definitely wish I was somewhere else. @Lover duck duck

Ok so I’m located in central Florida and Hurricane Dorian is on track here. I have (10) 1 year old ducks. They have a 900 square foot predator proof pen and they also have an 8 x 8 duck house which was built using 4 x 4 post cemented into the ground. My question is: Should I keep them inside the duck house or should I leave them out in the pen? Also if Dorian hits at night they always get locked up at night. So I don’t know what to do. Please advise. Also if I need to make accommodations inside my house I will.
