What to do with old eggs??

He never said they weren't suitable for consumption, he just didn't know what to do with the abundance of eggs that he has! He could crack one of the floaters and if it's rancid, then yeah, I would suggest just throwing it away.... but if it's still good, why not donate it to those that can use it?!

-*Waits for an apology*- :p

I assumed that when an egg floats it is "bad" and should not be consumed. At least not by humans. So they would be ok to eat, or atlest cook in things?

Based on this quote by OP: She assumed that b/c they failed the float test, they were not fit for human consumption. That misconception has been clarified. However, I would not in good conscience sell eggs to my customers that are over 2 weeks old. Yes, I will keep and eat older eggs myself, but my customers expect that when they pay for farm fresh eggs, that is what they are getting. If I will not sell an egg, I certainly wouldn't donate it to a shelter. This is my conviction, I stand by it. No apology forth coming. However, if you choose to donate old eggs, go ahead.

Plus shelters will not except the eggs just like they don’t except home canned goods. The shelter also has rules that if things haven’t been through the pasteurizing process an FDA approved and all of that they will not except them. Sam won’t even except vegetables from the garden

But even if the shelter would except them I’m with Lazy. Gardner I wouldn’t want to give them to somebody without knowing if they are good to eat or not. Even when you break one open to do a visual and smell test it doesn’t mean that all the ones that are floated are good just the one you checked the inside of.

I know how old my eggs get, and at 2 weeks I donate extras to a food bank and they gladly take them. Not knowing the age of the egg, I would tell them they need to be opened into a cup and inspected.
Last time I took in eggs a lady followed me back in "can I get some of those lovely blue eggs?"

That seems to me like inviting trouble to Sunday dinner. :idunno
i have been feeding the foxes for over 30 years and have never lost a bird to a fox, i think they have full bellies and leave my flock alone. maybe they are not hungry after being fed at my house. plus i love them, have lots of photos and videos of the foxes.
