What to do with packing peanuts?

But in this case - as it is when dealing with any company over the internet, IMO - it pays to be informed. Ideal's website clearly states, with the part about packing peanuts in red letters, their shipping policy:

Edited to correct the spelling of Teri's last name. Sorry Teri

My mistake, then. Thank you for pointing it out.

I ordered 10 from Ideal (started out with 16 because I was worried about them getting cold, but then realized I didn't really want a bunch of st. run OEGB, just a couple to replace the Quail one I lost earlier this year and some Brabanters because they're just neat looking), which should be here tomorrow or Friday, and I told them I didn't want packing peanuts. The lady told me that they probably wouldn't survive after I downsized to 10. Then, when I asked what number probably would survive, she told me they'd probably be okay.

It's their job to sell chickens, so I understand that they probably don't want you to take stuff OFF an order, but I just opted for the insurance and decided to take my chances, so

when I ordered from Purely Poultry, I was not aware that they just have Ideal ship the chicks- so I did not have the benefit of knowing I'd get an extra 10 birds. Nowhere on their website does it say they're a middleman, although after some research here I realized that was what it was. On one hand, I'll just order from Ideal from now on, I'm not wild about the slightly dishonest vibe I get from dealing with PP. On the other hand, I'm thrilled with the extra birds. I'm all for having what I call "Chicken Soup Roos" to enjoy in the winter. Yum! Free food.

Getting extras roos is nice they make awesome vittles later on and sure beats the alternative of them going in the meat grinder alive as some place do.
