What treat did your chickies get today?

This AM they got three more peaches (which they ignored), a couple of apples (which they liked) and then 1/3 of a small angelfood cake that had been sitting on the counter for about a week. The cake disappeared in about 2 minutes.

cue the Bill Cosby skit "Cake for Breakfast" in s 3...... 2 ...... 1 ......

My rabble got dandelion leaves, mealworms, scrambled egg, some left over gammon and chopped up apple & pear which was left till last and then they ate the flesh and left the skins! Guess they weren't as ripe as I thought

Today my lot got some rice from last nite, bread, fresh picked Blackberries, fresh picked grapes from the Poly tunnel. Some of the horses sweet feed which they love n is a big treat, some Crane's bill leaves which they pinch from the rabbits, cooked peas, sweet corn n broccoli.

I figured with all the junk they have been getting lately, I would give them an antioxidant flush 41 pints of blueberries, with some bread on the side...

Mine get a mixture of cornmeal ,oatmeal ,wheat bran . mixed with water and cooked., every morning for breakfast They Love It .Afternoon they get Oat sprouts

Does everyone feed this stuff to baby chicks or full grown?

For me mostly adults, my chicks get very few treats but I do give them some small treats maybe once a week...

Mine are pullets, 4 1/2mos and 3mos. I don't give them a ton of stuff, just enough to be a treat (less than 3% of their daily diet).

mine are the exact same age as yours i give them a few tomatoes some basil and water left over fruit a piece of apple banana etc from the kids about everyother day!

Does everyone feed this stuff to baby chicks or full grown?

We have 4 chicks, varying in age from 6 to 10 weeks, all hatched by broodies, they have voracious appetites and try as I might, they launch into the treats a much as they can. They tend to not get too much as the older one's clear it pretty quickly. They all seem fit and well so I'll let them carry on.
