What treat did your chickies get today?

Today was a very windy, rainy day so I gave my chickens some leftover mashed potatoes with beef stew on top. But some of their favorite things to eat are plain yogurt with fruit, and watermelon.

old bread, butternut squash, green pepper, black soldier fly larva, oats, cracked corn and some free range time

Greek yogurt, beet greens, pomegranate seeds and, of course, dried mealworms.

Sweet corn from the garden, flax seed and sunflower seeds they loved it!!!

A slice of sourdough bread and, next time I go out, some baby arogala leaves.

It was warm today and now it is quite breezy. Earlier today each pen had a few teaspoons of cottage cheese and this early evening they will have chopped kale, blueberries and a few dried mealworms. Not too many bugs left in the backyard....and they're molting.

my 9 day old chicks got chopped up brussles sprouts leaves, and leaves and blooms of rabbitfoot clover. They loved the clover, chased each other around for it, but the brussles sprouts were received a little less enthusiastically. They played more with that than that they ate it, as far as I can tell. They did love the alfalfa sprouts that I gave them yesterday.
