What treat did your chickies get today?

We went to a "carribbean" bbq and i bought home a load of rice and peas (rice and kidney beans) that were going in the bin...that and a bit of left over curried mutton went down well with my flock.

My take on ‘Vegetarian Fed’ …

  1. Fed by a Vegetarian or
  2. Fed Vegetarian’s

Edited to Add: Please do not be offended if your chickens are vegetarian fed or you are a vegetarian; just my early morning, before coffee attempt at humour

Vegetarian poultry feed was in response to diseases passed on to other livestock like mad cow disease.
It was mandated by law in many places that no meat products would be fed to livestock.

Mine had a little bit of leftover meatloaf, broccoli (cooked), grits (from this morning since they can't have potatoes), and a tiny piece of biscuit tonight. I don't normally feed "too heavy" of a treat in the evening, but I had 4 people eating, and leftovers from plates that added together to equal a little sample of each item for all the birds. They really enjoyed it, and then I brought out more feed in the outdoor feeder and they happily raced over and started nibbling on that lol

My girls got some mashed polenta, lettuce, and cucumber today with mushroom, boiled carrots and broccoli set aside for tomorrow! They got yogurt with stale cereal last weekend and LOVED that!

Tut .. I am starting to regret my decision to subscribe to this thread

Here I was thinking that I might learn some good treat ideas for my little gals and all I seem to have learnt is that they are fussy, spoiled little brats!

; carrots also come into the

category Pass on the apples and you know what you can do with your pumpkin!! Lol

If they had their way, they would live on mixed leaf lettuce, tomato, watermelon and meal worms!
