What treat did your chickies get today?

Our girls got scrambled eggs this morning.

They aren't getting any more regular treats, though. I've wondered if the extra eggs and extra fruit and daily treats has put off their egg-laying abilities, so I've pretty much cut out all treats other than scrambled eggs. It's making the girls kinda act funny cuz they're used to treats, but we want some eggs.

It sucks that I have to go to the store to buy eggs to scramble them to feed to my 8-month-old chickens who should have started laying 2-3 months ago.

My girls made "worm salad" yesterday: about 20 freshly dug up worms and a handful of scratch feed on a bed of freshly pulled grass. I'll have to post pics then. It was gone in about 1 1/2 minutes!

Today is special: A half of left over coconut pie, most of a fab bread pudding that only I like, some white bread to get rid of it as it never gets stale anymore, a banana. Supper leftovers as well. I am crying over the bread pudding, but don't need to eat any more of it.

I have never had chickens before and just now learning that they eat anything lol. I gave mine leftover steak and a large steak bone. craZY hen suddenly squatted and wouldnt get up while she was eating some of the scratch and meat. I looked under her and she had piled up all the steak scraps and was sitting on them so nobody else could have it! I think she gets a new name now...miss piggy.

My chickens get porridge and soya beans for their breakfast every day. Good for protein apparently!?
