What treat did your chickies get today?

Today the chickies will get the what is left of the chicken, bones and all, lima beans with the hamhocks they were cooked with, homemade cranberry sauce, and cornbread stuffing.

They are going to go nuts!!!!! For Breakfast today I am making them scrambled eggs mixed in with some grits.

They got the turkey gizzard and the neck bones. This is the first time I have given them meat and I don't think I would have wanted to put my hand between the neck bones and a chicken!

I went out later and picked up the neck bones and they were picked clean. They loved it! Today I think I am going to make them a warm mash with alfalfa pellets and maybe add some left over veggies to it. Poor things, it has been so cold here for the last couple of days.

well today they will be getting a Tday feast. I made 20 people save all their leftovers from dinner last night and I bagged them up plus 2 turkey carcasses-a green bean cassarole and some desserts to boot-Its alot of food so Ill spread it out over the next few days

FISH!!!

My kiddies get a tin of fish every week, as well as a pile of grain soaked in the fish juice... happy happy chickens

Have to put it in two seperate bowls though, otherwise the big girls eat it all, and the bantams stand on the sidelines sqwaking and looking sad

Mine got all the veggie scraps yesterday morning from me cutting up all the fresh veggies for dinner! This morning, they got more veggie scraps, and half a loaf of zuchini bread! I didn't know it was o.k. to feed chickens meat--------they can have any kind as long as it's thoroughly cooked?
