What treat did your chickies get today?

Pics
Along with their daily pellets, the girls got some turnip greens and a couple slices of whole grain bread, left over from dinner last night. They loved the greens, kept coming back for more then started to eat it out of my hand. The bread they liked too. They found some ice chips from this morning and they seem to love those too, but i didn't provide those, mother nature did, lol.

Cooked eggs with leftover Panko crumbs, pieces of potato (without any green), crumbs from the bottom of the Frosted Bite-Sized Shredded Wheat package, and some scratch. Oh, and I picked them some grass. They were pretty happy!

For 18 hungry girls:2 bunches of mustard greens, 1/2 pumpkin, 3 apples, 8 tomatoes, 4 lbs.strawberries and their regular laying pellets.
I get the produce from a local wholesaler, so it does not cost any extra except the effort to pick it up. I am blessed to have such a resource for the girls.

Tomorrow they will be getting more mustard greens, red grapes, the other 1/2 pumpkin, and cantaloupes. I hauled home 60 lbs of food for them today on foot, my car is broke but it was only 3 trips@1 mile per trip to get their food.
Luckily the weather is nice-- 55 and sunny ( sometimes it's nice to live in the deep South, the Summers make up for it though.)

Glop thats what the kids call it

Oatmeal and all the leftover stuff from dinner. warmed up in the microwave and served in a high class icecream bucket

It's been cold, I just read the other night that they like Oatmeal so I also thru in a small box of raisins.
Look out they licked the plate clean:drool. Tonight it's below zero so in the morning they will have another warm breakfast waiting for them.

My three got to spend most of the day outside in the yard (rain stopped this morning) - so their treat was lots of yummy worms, bugs and green growing things. I love to watch them chase whomever has the worm hanging out of their beak!
