What treat did your chickies get today?

today the got romaine [organic lettuce] mealworms, bread and shredded cheese. Not too much free ranging going on right now lots of snow on the ground and cold.

It is so cold. I like to feed them warm stuff. Yesterday was Potaoes Delux (potatoe casserole with peas, cheese, butter and sour cream) and today was vegtable pasta. They seem to eat just about anything!

Warm scrambled eggs with pizza crust and hard-boiled eggs sliced neatly all over the top...

I don't know why I bother to make it look lnice for them...their feeding frenzy lasts just seconds then it's all gone...

A few days ago when the weather was very cold, I took leftover bacon fat from breakfast, mixed in some scratch feed and gave them leftover buttermilk pancakes.

Well, DH cleaned through the freezer yesterday and found two lean cuisines that had been in there for about six months. I don't know why we got them as neither of us had any interest in eating them and we needed room in the freezer so... The pasta with mushroom sauce was heated up this morning and served to the ladies. They loved it! Hot meal on a snowy day... Oh ya, they went a little bonkers.

I just finished cooking 2 HUGE sweet potatoes, after they've cooled enough, I'll cut them up into chunks and add them to the scratch & BOSS I usually give in the afternoons...... the girls will have orange smiles later today.
