What treat did your chickies get today?

Pics
Alfalfa pellets soaked in hot water, swelled, then sprinkled with red pepper powder. I heard it's supposed to help egg production.

OH Lucky you Barry,
where are you that you already have weeds big enough to pull?? My girls are really ready for some green from the ground. I did try my hand at sprouting in buckets this winter, so the flock could have a little bit of live stuff to eat. They looked like a pack of wolves going after those seeds when I poured them out. LOL
I never thought I'd be HAPPY to see weeds coming up, I guess chickens make us look at the world in a different way.

yesterday they got banana's was going to save them to make bread but found out I had over time this weekend and would have been to tired to do it.

also some left over bread and tortillas I had that would go bad.

I am starting to take my Cockatiels left over seeds and plant them so they can have that as well.
not sure if I will have time to give them anything tonight before I go to wrk tonight.

Mine got some chopped up walnuts (I gathered something like 150# of walnuts in the fall), some pieces of kielbasa from my lunch, and the trimmings from the chile pepper that went into my lunch (the seedy part). Plus the usual greens, collards today.

Two big scoops leftover cooked grains, a crumbled washed egg shell, about 4 cooked beans scraped from someone's plate and a grated apple. Why won't they eat a whole apple? I hate grating apples.

I'm in Memphis, Tennessee.

And yes, the early weeds are flourishing right now.

So are the turnip greens I planted for my family and the chooks.

Today, my feathered kids got a snack of fresh turnip greens from the garden, and some raw milk.
