What trip/vacation do you really want to take? Where would you go?

I would love to go to Great Britain, especially Wales. I'm dying to meet English Chick! Would also love to do an Eastern Europe Viking River Cruise.

Captain Kangaroo was a staple, but my favorite on that show was Mr. Green Jeans and Bunny Rabbit, I used to so upset when they pelted him with ping-pong balls!

I don't live too far from Salem, and I have been there for Halloween. Its fun, but its fun the whole month of October, there is just as much to do.
All the re enactments and such.

I would love to visit Ireland and Italy where each of my parents families are from.
My daughter has been to Italy twice and loved it.

I have a burning desire to go to Iceland & go horse trekking.

It is going to happen someday, when the family responsibilities let up.

AWESOME, that's what Icelandic Horses are...we had two for 12 years, the last years of their lives, they live to be near 40 years old if allowed...

We have an Icelandic, too. He is only 15, so he still has a long life ahead of him.

I'd like to go visit his homeland.

I thought I was the only person left on the planet that knew who Captian Kangaroo was! Every time I would mention that name people look at me like I grew up in an alternate universe! I loved him growing up!!


I remember Captain Kangaroo very well! I grew up watching him, and he taught me to read. After I was grown and started teaching, I wrote him a letter thanking him for his show and telling him that after he taught me to read, I became an English teacher. He sent back a personalized autographed photo that is now one of my most prized possessions. He died not too long after that, and I cried like a baby. I felt like my own Grandfather had died, and I guess in a sense he had. Kids lives are much more empty without Captain Kangaroo.
