I would like to raise bobwhites for hunting so what kind of birds would be the best in your opinion. I know I will need a flight pen. Thanks

FOR HUNTING STANDARD BIRDS ARE USUALLY PREFERRED... JUMBOS ARE FAT AND LAZY WHEN IT COMES TO FLYING

ALSO, CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH=== CHECK YOUR LAWS AND REGULATIONS. USUALLY PERMITTING IS REQUIRED AT THE LEAST AND IN MANY STATES RELEASE IS PROHIBITED (ILLEGAL) SO MAKE SURE YOU'RE GOOD TO GO BEFORE VENTURING INTO THIS COSTLY LIL ADVENTURE. IN THE STICKY SECTION THERE IS A STICKY THAT WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL STATE'S WEBSITE FOR REGULATIONS IF NEEDED

Northern are the best flying ..stay away from the larger bobs. For sure check you state laws. Most all states you will need a permit to raise them.

I think Northerns are the best sporting birds overall, but some preserve customers, depending on hunting experience and personal preferences, may have a better experience with one of the larger breeds which will be easier targets.

I try to stay away from butlers and jumbos for hunting. A northern georgia giant cross works okay, but nothing beats a pure northern.
