Awww babies! It's so much nicer when they have a good mother to care for them. Definitely cuts back on the work. My birds are molting. William looks like he's been 1/2 plucked & he's being extra mean lately. Olive's got white old lady feathers now. You can see where the color is leaving her feathers on the top of her head. Reminds me of an old dog going gray.

Yes mine are molting too. One coop looks like a pillow fight happen 😂

Well the old buff hen wasn't doing well and I put her down this morning.
A few weeks ago I heard a fight behind me and she was limping. Seemed like it was sprained but kept getting worse. She was hopping around on one foot so I kept her in the coop with the littles. Then her crop was still full Tuesday morning and she wasn't eliminating. Massage and oil didn't help. She was just flopping around this morning.
Her chicks are 5 weeks old. Another broody decided that her ⁸ weeks old eggs weren't going to hatch and has been trying to steal the chicks the last couple days. So they won't be alone .
