They have unlimited access to Layers pellets in the coop. They also get a small amount of scratch grains or mixed bird seed scattered on the ground twice a day. I let them out to free range 2 hours before sunset daily, weather permitting. I also provide oyster shells in a separate container, and granite grit in another container.
I have 5 hens, 16 months old. GC

Dry pellets right now, but thinking about starting to ferment them. Then I throw them food scraps and let them walk around my backyard during the day. Also have oyster shells and grit in a container for them.

I feed dry crumbles free choice.... but offer a dish of soaked crumble a few times a week as a treat. They also get kitchen scraps, and animal protein at least 2x a week. They also get out into the yard daily for anywhere from 1-6 hours

What kind of kitchen scraps do you feed chickens?
