Ooh! I'd love to see her eggs! You should post in the Colourful Egg post (the link is in my first post on this thread), or start a thread like this! It's nice to know my girl isn't the only one - I always thought any given chicken would only lay eggs one colour, with slight variation as the seasons change or she ages....I have no idea what to make of her!

What's funny is that I didn't really want the two Golden Comets at first because I wanted unique and different chickens who would lay beautiful eggs but as it turns out that they lay GORGEOUS eggs! I am sure you'll love your girls' eggs too!

I have a red sex-link too, and definitely did not anticipate how pretty her eggs would be! She lays about the color of the dark egg you got yesterday. She’s extremely consistent though, the color has never changed!

She layed her biggest egg yet, weighing in at 73g this afternoon! It's a matte brown with a pinkish bloom and just a few white spots amidst a scattering of pink speckles. The texture of the shell itself is similar to an orange. Here it is next to the one her sister laid today:

All I can say is "Ouch". How are you walking today, Baby Girl?! #WTHB?!

Nothing too special here today...just a light brown egg, no speckles and semi-glossy...but it was a good size...53 grams. Much bigger than the perfect little brown egg Lucille had for us today but nowhere near the size of yesterday's beast egg!

Poor Lucille...always being compared to her sister...it's always Babette, Babette, Babette...lol

It's okay Lucille, there is something very comforting about predictable. And we all love a good brown egg!
