What would be appropriate? Suggestions PLEASE!!

I really think the gift basket is a cute idea, Movie tickets, or even the gift card with some goodies! Not to much to spend on the basket and fillers itself.
You can deliver it with her name on it like a flower shop, I'm sure the workers would make sure she got it, or ask when she might be in next, so you know when she will be there.

Girls love pedicures. I would get her a pedicure but with my horrible luck she would have no legs or something. Yeap, go with the giftcard. You can't possible go wrong. Unless she hates free money. Hope it's your doggie!

I think a Visa gift card would be great. Also, maybe you could include a handwritten note thanking her for taking the time to go online and email you about "Cheyenne" and everything. Im sure that helping you find your dog 4 years later will be good enough for her. If that was me I would be so glad to have helped somebody like you.

There's something else you might do in addition to the gift card and it's absolutely free, save for the postage stamp. Write a letter to the director or board of directors of the shelter and let them know you think they have an awesome volunteer working for them.
I make a habit of doing this whenever I am given excellent service by someone, be it a volunteer or a paid employee.
