Hmm. Fishers are around here. Harder to kill than a coyote or bear though... Don't have a trapping license. I'll have to see if the neighbor will let me use the live trap.

It is not likely a Fisher or its smaller cousin the Marten because they would have eaten more of it but don't rule them out. Minks is what I am thinking. They love organ meat and insatiable desire to just kill for fun. The picture just fits their MO.

We had similar issue and found it was racoons. Not sure if it helps..
