Thanks everyone. So glad it isn't anything to stress about, especially because he was going at it again tonight. At least it is pretty quiet from inside the coop...

My mother. We recently got two new birds, the cockeral seemed pretty quiet and the guy we bought him off said he rarely made a sound and if he did it was afternoon. I think he found his voice! My son tells me he started crowing at 3.30am this morning from inside the coop. Sadly i don't live in the middle of nowhere lol. I bought him on a whim tbh, hes a lovely silkie and looks like one of those lead singers from a dodgy 70's rock band and id hate to give him up.
My mother.
Last night, about an hour or more after dark and after the chickens had been peacefully roosting the rooster started crowing inside the coop. I went and checked on them and they were all just sitting quietly and there didn't seem to be any obvious disturbance and no predators or other animals in the (secure) run...
Any ideas on what would make the rooster crow at night in the coop like that? Is it just one of those random chicken things?
