What would steal an egg AND a golf ball

Like two post before snakes can live in cold weather. You have to remember in most deserts it gets very cold at night. Do you have any small spaces under you coop? Cause if you do they would love it. We have had situations where there have been snakes under the coop. And when you let them out i would look for makings on the ground around the coop. For any prints of feet or snake lines in the dirt. Hope you get whatever it is.

I am going to assure you the snakes are still upand active reguardless what you might think. We had a 6 foot rat snake yesterday in the road sunning then not even 100 yards from him we moved a adult grass snake off the road so he wouldnt get hit. Odd thing is that morning we were breaking ice from the water. Then the afternoon yielded the 2 snakes so yea. I am gonna have to say snake.

I would suggest a skunk. My family used to lose lot's of eggs to skunks this time of year, who are getting ready for winter. But then again, snakes aren't very common in RI.

Its still kind of warm here in NC, but this week a friend wen out early in the dark to fetch his breakfast well he was feeling around the nest boxes and stuck his hand under a sittling hen and came out with a snake. He has lights in his coop now:clap.

I just saw one of those emergency vet shows, and they removed four golf balls from a snake's belly. Or it could have been a raccoon who loves golfing......

While I like this explanation better, I have to agree with the snake wearing the muffler-I can't think of anything else that would take fake eggs/golf balls.

ever heard of a snow snake? hehe it is a joke in our area (a skier's joke actually!)
