Generous? No, great tax write off!! I make me and my family the employee's of the foundation and I can pay them all hefty salaries. Also, when people come asking me to donate to their charity... sorry, I already have my own. chickens I own or buy and any supplies related to them are now part of a charitable foundation so no sales tax.
And if I get more people raising chickens maybe we'll need less welfare and my taxes will go down. Lord knows the government would tax the crap out of my income from the lottery.

This would be a great way for them to spend a little of that stimulus money. This would make a great thread of it's own. Maybe the people here could help work out the kinks. Then we could all Email our views,& opinions put in an organized manor to our Senators,& Congress. There's a large # of people here, that CAN make a difference.
I would get a property in the country about 30 acres, BIG coops. I would import birds especially Brabanters and Wyandottes. Have Anatolian Shepherds for LGD and I would get goats and sheep and ducks
a nice big filtered pond for all my call ducks and plenty of room for my doves and pigeons to fly free.
Branches and roost for my pheasants and large open area for my turkeys and pea fowl.
A nice waterfall for the ducks and a shallow place for my pigeons and doves to bathe and for others to drink from.
Large beds to grow green things for them all to eat and no picking they could just help themselves.
What a fun thread! I'd buy the house behind me, then one next door, and the house behind that one. Tear down 2 of them and put in a small orchard and privacy barriers. Next door, I'd open up completely, and turn into a big studio space for me and my girlfriends to use and create to our hearts content. I would buy a lobbying firm to work on increasing our city limit from 6 hens to 25 hens and a rooster.
. Put in a pond, and get ducks! Build a magnificent coop for all kinds of chickens, and quail. Have a private butcher and a walk in freezer.
Also a cleaning lady, gardener and handyman!
I'd put in a huge garden with a watering system. Grape and wisteria covered trellis' over the paths that would go from one end to the other. I would completely renovate my house, make it 2 story, add porches and a greenhouse/sunroom.
I'm sure I could think of more, but I'll stop there. lol.
That's what some people call under 10 acres around here.
Then I'd have space for even more critters and could build barns on my new ranchette for rescues.
