I was wanting to order a pair of adult American Blue geese from Holderreads this fall. They are the only place that has this breed.
This spring I ordered 2 eggs from a fellow BYC member, one of which hatched. I was going to get more eggs and was unable to. So earlier this summer, the plan was to get some goslings from Holderreads, which also fell through. So I figured I'd get adults, since the one I have will be a year old already by the time I can get more (goslings) next spring.
Shipping is $134.40 per pair, plus $25 per box (I assume I would need 2?)
The birds themselves range from $100 for utility grade birds, up to $300 for show quality.
So just for a pair of utility birds it would cost me almost $300!!! Is it worth it? Would you pay that? Or should I just wait till spring and get some babies?
