I had the same thing on the first two teeth and they took the teeth out in pieces. It took a long time to heal and then I got dry socket on top on it. The second two teeth were taken out about ten years later as I couldn't get up the nerve to have it done again. The second two were no problem at all and I felt fine afterwards.

Quail are wonderful! But you should keep them separate from your chickens. They are very susceptible to chicken diseases. I have not eaten them, but some folks do. My first batch of breeders got eaten by a dog:-( Dog is now pushing up daisies. They have teeny little eggs, and hatch out cute itsiebitsie babies! And they run around like crazy even just after hatch. They double in size every week and start to lay at 6 weeks! Apparently they keep on laying as long as they live if given light and kept warm enough. I like that they are very friendly(coturnix) and I love their hoot. You can sell eggs, use them for crafts etc. I am taking a few quail chicks with me to auction tomorrow so we will see how that goes. You feed them game bird crumbles. I give mine spray millet for treats and they love a dust bath, will lay eggs in it! Have fun! Deb

so its friday, must mean watching supernatural and candling eggs!

Beth- My dumb...well, yeah, I BROKE AN EGG! It was the other day and it was with that stupid brick of a thermometer/hydrometer! Smashed, I was so heartsick, I saw the poor little chick... the other 14 eggs are developing, 3 have wonky air cells, so i traced them and redrew my X and O to rotate them, one of them was pretty bad, it had a normal space when it stood, but laying down at a certain angle it got another one. Weird, but we'll just hope for the best.

Michelle- Last week I took out 4 duds, looks like 1 more quit on me, not sure when, maybe i'll crack it and give it a look. So it looks like 8 developing, 2 had the weird little air cells, but not as badly as the others.

I've planned for the hatching to start while I'm going to an Octoberfest celebration, so babies' first view of daddy will be hammered off his...well, yeah.

cant remember if I already said this but.... I got my bambi dvd in the mail. Thanks so much! It was immediately hidden so it can be a christmas gift for DD. Cant wait to watch it. I love that movie.

Uncle Tommy, I just checked the DC on your eggs. They are at your post office at 7:30 this morning, but it does not say out for delivery. Hopefully you do get them today and they do not sit there 'til Monday.
