so sorry buff beauty.

Makes me scared of fire. I just heard someone I know had their house burn down this evening. No one was hurt thank God but house was total loss. Just so sad. I'm glad you had your adult birds with you when this happened. Again so sorry!!

Thanks y'all. It sucks but it'll be ok. I also had a friend that lost her entire house this wknd to fire. Single mom 3 boys.ost everything! Makes my coop less significant. Sorry for your friend as well.

I am so sorry for your loss! I almost had my barn burned down with goats in it because of a heat lamp, so now I build wood and wire boxes around them all. I discovered the barn full of smoke, but was able to get all the animals out and put out the fire. Close call. Luckily your show birds were not in there!

Thanks. The upside is I had 2 Orpington cockerels in the back section that luckily ran out the pop doors and were huddled in the corner and ok when hubby got out there. Surprising because they were less than 3 feet from waterers that were melted.

One reason why I stopped using them heat lamp bulbs and started using 100watt bulbs.

So sorry for the loss of your chicks and building.

I've used bulbs a lot but decided since they were gonna be sharing coop space I needed to cut down on the nighttime brightness. Guess I won't make that mistake again. Thanks again. Y'all are awesome.
