Now I noticed a new pain.... Reach in to feel what it could be and it was sharp. Grabbed a flash Light and looked in the mirror and sure enough something white and sharp sticking through my gum by where my wisdom tooth was pulled. Research it on the internet and it says it could only be 2 things. Splintered Bone or Piece of tooth broken off inside and not removed and now poking through. Either way it says I have to go back to have it looked at and most likely removed.

I refuse to go back to the same dentist. This one has caused enough damage and pain. I don't want to go back at all. I am definately not going back until after Christmas.

Anyone else have this much Difficulty after getting there wisdoms out.

OH I am so sorry for your pain and troubles! Man, I hate going to the dentist, I have problems with my teeth, too, but not like you're having. For sure find a new dentist, possibly an oral surgeon, that's who took my last wisdoms out. Never get a root canal by anyone other than an endodontist, too, while I'm throwing my 2 cents in. Regular dentists can be good, but in my experience, they're only good for the usual fillings & such.

DH had something similar. He had a molar pulled years ago and it wouldn't stop bleeding for several days. Not gushing blood but enough to make him sick from it. Ended up at the ER because it became very painful and had a nasty taste in his mouth besides the blood. Turned out it became infected and there was a piece of tooth in there. Being his gum was infected they couldn't numb it and he had no insurance to put him to sleep so he had to sit there while the doc dug the piece of tooth out and sewed him up. That was more than 20 years ago and he's only been back to the dentist once since then and it was another extraction, different dentist.

My hubby had his wisdom teeth pulled this spring and went through dry-socket and also a tooth spur in the socket afterwards. He was told that many times it work its way out or if it got too painful, they could get it out for him. He went to an orthodontist/mouth surgeon specialist to have his done. His did work its way out and he was able to pull the spur out with very minimal pain. I guess it actually happens quite often. Hope it finds its way out on its own soon for you Michelle.

I yanked one out way back when, I just remember it being annoying and using my tongue to play with it then I got really annoyed and yanked it with some tweezers, it was one of those AH feelings afterward.

Sorry to hear you are in pain. After I had my wisdom teeth out many years ago, I was getting pieces surfacing for about a year! They were mostly small, but sharp, and they all worked themselves out after a few days. I may have helped a couple of them come out. I think I have a fairly high threshhold of pain, so I was willing to let them work out themselves. If it were me, I would do some saltwater rinses to ward off infection and if it doesn't get too bothersome, just wait it out.

Hope you feel better soon!

just checked the genetic calculator, it says wheaten x black = black. That is no fun. I say try anyway. I put a black silkie rooster over my red golden comets. Calculator said black, we got black gray, white..... you never know.
