5 in brooders 4 more zipped 4 pipped, which is a 100% pipped, best i've ever had on shipped eggs.

Yesterday I came home to Christmas in July.

My apron arrived and is perfect. A little small for my round behind (obviously I guessed at the measurements I sent you) but was a hit for my middle child that is learning to cook. She looks so adorable in it that it is now hers. I will have to win another of your auctions. Can you do a manly one for my littlest?

Ducklover1 sent my hibiscus and some lillies also. He is a wonderful packer and though he can't join the regular swap due to age, I would highly recommend him for side swaps. I have wrapped everyone is damp newspaper and plan on planting tonight once it cools off.

Amy- the eggs arrived and not only were they externally great, I candled and the air cells are intact. WOO HOO! I am so excited and will keep you posted when they hatch. I still plan on trading you Lav AM eggs later for some more Mottled.

I love this thread!!!

Yoda, missred, ruthless and muddy horse. All packages will go out today at lunch and I will PM tracking numbers this afternoon. I apologize for the delay on some going out.

I got mine on Wednesday from him, and I agree with you-excellent job!

She sent LOTS of them!

Henthymes, The pins are clear coated so they should hold up in weather. If you need pointers just holler. I'm from a long line of seamstresses and I have no one to pass it on to so I try to help as many people as I can.

Emmalynn, I thought it sounded a bit small but I figured you knew. They still have the fabric if you want a matching one. I can do boyish ones too. The first few hundred I made were utility aprons for men.

Ducklover, pm if you see any of my stuff you'd like to swap.

The post office strikes again for the 4th time in a week. Last Saturday I got 2 boxes with smashed eggs. Not cracked, but completely smashed. Monday same thing. Yesterday I got a box that was double boxed. The sender sent 12 eggs. 6 were smashed. How this happened I do not know. It has also been taking 5-7 days for some eggs to get here shipped priority. I requested on sender to put time sensitive on the box and it was here in 48 hours. Today I got a call from my PO saying my eggs went to the wrong PO 45 min away. Guess what I get to do.

My postal clerk is disgusted by the way the PO has been handling eggs so she has been doing a lot of research for how we should ship eggs. This is what she found out:
1. Pack how you normally do.
2. Put hatching eggs on the box AND LIVE ANIMALS. Also time sensitive.
3. Some POs have the green sign I am going to post to put on the box. If they don't, make a sign like this on green paper.

4. Have your PO put the box in its own USPS shipping crate and have them post another sign on the crate. If it has the sign it should stay in this crate until it reaches its destination. It is sorted by humans, not machines, and has a much better chance of survival.

Also, deliver eggs to the PO to be sure it is put in the crate unless you know and trust your mail carrier to do it.

I'd like to Thank Sharon at the Rowley, Ia Post Office for going through all the work to help our eggs reach their destination. If your postal worker has questions, have them look up the phone number for the PO in Rowley, Ia 52329.

Feel free to share this information
Jim

Note to those sending me eggs:
Would you mind trying this to see if I have better luck?
