I'm not sure what's going on but I have heard of LOTS of egg damage lately, much more than normal. Not just my shipped eggs but plenty of others as well. What's changed with our PO system???

I was told they are under staffed and cutting more jobs.

It looks like the PO took its toll on the Lav Orp eggs I got from you, HenThymes. I candled last night and none developed.

Jim, I am soo sorry that none developed, I have not had a ton of luck on shipped egg myself.

Maybe better luck this fall when it cools down??

Got my eggs today from CORANCHER. Post office wasn't nice to them. 1 was literally smashed and 2 others were cracked. They definately do not handle the egg boxes like they should. I've repeatedly told them if I get a box that says fragile to be careful with it. My postman asked me to do how you mail eggs.... I said very carefully with lots of prayer lol.

Thank you Corancher. My 4 and 5 yr old are very happy to have "big" eggs for the incubator..

Post office has been very hard on eggs lately. Last two I got there was breakage in each package - candled the remaining eggs yesterday and nothing. They were my Lav. Orp eggs from HenThymes and my July Mystery Swap eggs from Georgia - my broodies are in control of them and I trust them, but they can't do anything with them if they are already scrambled.

I do however have some silkies growing from shipped eggs (Thanks sebrightmom). Hoping to convince my broodies to do their other job soon. It's getting hard to make an omlet around here.

The eggs I got from corancher were fine. I also got Polish eggs and houdan eggs that were fine but I have gotten two boxes with rotten eggs in them lately. Always send fresh eggs!

Everyone that sent me stuff, thank you!
Everything, even eggs (and I will contact you all in a bit for a personal thanks) arrived in good shape and I love all of it! Plants, soap, eggs....goodness, I can't think what all else but it arrived and I am tickled!

Yeah I got eggs recently that were brutally smashed

. Combo of packing, really rough handling and heat. I could smell them before I even opened the box.

I caught the postal carrier trying to run and drop them in front of the house without me knowing. They usually honk and come to the door with them. She was very bashful and was like Ummmm these came for you handed me the package and ran back to her truck.

Also kind of upset because I had a package returned because they said I had to pay flat rate shipping on the package. I went to te PO to send it first class because it was to RFF in WA and first class is just as fast in the same zone. They returned it to me today and I sent it on Wed THROUGH them! It was a flat ate box but wrapped in paper (which they suggested) because it weighed less than the flat rate price. My PO worker was the one that okayed it in the first place!!!!!

so annoying! So now I have to go back and pay more money!

Not really happy with them right now! That being said it looks like all my plants made it to their destinations! Sonew let me know how those water iris fared! And plant the pods in te mud in your pond or in super moist soil.

You know what really is upsetting.... We pay for a service, a service that goes up in price it seems like once a year now. How would the postal workers like it if services they relied on outside of the PO were as crappy as they are!!! At this point we might as well just hand them the eggs in the cartons, maybe they would handle with with more care.
