That stinks.
Dang dogs, They are such pest sometimes. My dog killed my 1 sex link the other day. I don't think he was trying to. She was trying to eat his dog food and he snapped at her and got her by her head. She died instantly so we processed her since I saw the whole thing happen.

He still got in trouble for it though.

If they were the quail you hatched from me let me know if you need more. My little dogs got a couple of my little baby quail from the basement. They know better now.

wow, bad doggy! Having a pampered pooch that won't chew on anything has it's benefits. She won't even eat her dog food unless i smoosh it....although, she does like squeak toys, which chicks happen to resemble....

So sorry for your losses. Dogs do seem to be the bird predator that is seen most often. My birds can not free range (even though we have plenty of space - 10 acres) because of the many free-ranging neighbor dogs. Our own dogs can't be trusted alone with our birds. Wish it wouldn't have happened for you.

Sorry about the quail

my dogs leave everything alone except the silkies/showgirls. The old dog (12yrs) seems to think they are rabbits (which he is a huge hunter of) He has never hurt any pet around here but I can't trust him with the fluffy birds - he is transfixed by them, sits and stares all tensed up, without moving. Not a good sign.

I received eggs today from WestKnollAmy. Thanks! Packaged beautifully with only one who has a detached air cell. All the rest look perfect.

Sent package to In His Service - DC# 03062400000041143477 - have a sharp pair of scissors ready, I taped the heck outta that box

it was my breeders that just started laying that got eaten. Found one little egg left behind. I posted the whole story under predators and pests. Luckily my baby quail were in the garage. Thanks for all your understanding folks.
