For best results; DON"T wait to do her feet. I found this to help you. http://professorchickensdiseases.webs.com/deformities.htm . If you can't open it and view let me know. They also need a certain amount of grit to what they eat to help scrape out (for lack of a better way of putting it.) I have used organic oatmeal for the first few days. You can grind it, but not to powder, just gritty. I add flax, but that is not always available. If you really have to you can mix crumble with warm water, and a syringe, after cooling. For the first few days the most important thing is that it is drinking. I had to put the one little one up to the quail feeder all the time and could hardly leave the house for a little while there. Do feet (toes) right away for quick healing.
It would be MUCH better for her if you used plain, unflavored, unsweetened yogurt.
I understand, and it is not an easy task to start with; no bird wants to be restrained. I can't find the video of us doing, so I'm sending pics of happy eggs your way. I always say, "happy chickens make happy eggs." My hubby said that it was because I draw happy faces on all of them.Thank you so much for the info and the links. Im haveing a hard time with it cuase it is the whole leg and its twisted at the hip as far as I can tell and I have a hard time trying to wrap it in place I think I am going to take her to my vet tammrow just to see if they can wrap it good for me I dont know what else to do , iit seems to distress her when she is unwrapped but wrapping her up the wrong way might make it worse.
