Does anyone want to side swap for silkie eggs? I just added new stuff to my swap page, it's a good place to start x-mas shopping. I could also use SFH eggs if anyone has any.

Does a hone have MF d'uccles laying right now? I have orders backed up and mine topped laying of course.

BHep has really good SFH eggs! I have two chicks in the brooder and more eggs in the incubator!

Aww thats so sad. OUt of 20 eggs I hatched 2 chicks I had one lady take the darker chocolate colored one and I kept the whiteish one. She was quite the turky for awhile and really bitey but she has mellowed out and almost doubled in size in like two weeks its been crazy. I have someone from the oregon fall swap that says they want her so they have first dibs but I have had 90% of people that say they want chicks from me back out so she might just be still avalible when we do our serama swap. I wanted to let you know by the way that the little chocolate frizzle turned black , is that normal where her feathers change again. and as far as I can tell she is a little hen.

Cold...they are BEAUTIFUL !!!!!

The 1st is a sizzle. Black sizzle hen x Lav. Silkie rooster
The 2nd is a sizzle. Black sizzle hen x Blue Polish rooster
(I have one just like this with a NN)
The 3rd is a Frizzled EE. NNEE hen x Frizzled Bantam Cochin.
We love them Beth! They are so fun to watch and they have they funniest way of looking at you.

THank you I think I know what to do I just need someone to help me do it as she just squigges like a mad thing and is hard to hold on to. though a second opnion from my vet would have been nice. I dont mind spending alittle money as I feel if you bring an animal into your life your responsbile for that animal and it shoudnt matter if it was a free kitten ( mine has cost me over 1,000 so far easy) or a chick or a rat ( my rats cost me probly close to 2,000) If I take responsiblity for something then I take all responsiblity. If I can some how work it into my budget I do end of story, I dont have any money right now not even enough to buy vet wrap but my vet use to let me charge then pay off the bil over a few months as long as it was done in a short period like 3 months or less kind of thing and IM fine with that but he dosnt call the shots anymore I guess. I found one person willing to work on chickens and she is 45 miles away and charges 40-50 bucks just to get in the door and requires payment up front so I cant go there . Ill keep wrapping her the best I can with what I have till I can get the vet wrap or something simalar and go from there. Ill let you know if I need that number. She dosnt seem sick otherwise but she dosnt want to eat much though she seems to like yogurt so Im gonna go get her her own plain greek yogurt this after noon and maybe a jar or two of baby food as well cuase Im sure my fat free low cal vannila isnt the best thing for her.I crushed up a little chick starter and mixed a small amount into the yougurt for now , she has stopped takeing water since I started giveing her yougurt is that cuase she is getting enough from the yougurt or should I try to force the water more.?

You didnt find anyone for what dear ? I must have missed a message?
I will see if my hubby saved the outline of the thing he made me to help hold that one little bird dtill. It will ship better than Butter. I may even be able to send e-mail to print and use like a template. It looked like a wedge, and had surgical tape to hold bitties head still from squirming. I still had to put my hand under it's tail so it would hold more still. It was like having one more set of steady hands, in addition to his and mine. Those little feet do not hold still.

I have more hens broody than I do have laying.

Other than a few sizzles or JB quail I'm nearly eggless. My girls sure could hatch a bunch of eggs for somebody if they lived close enough. I'm about to do some moving around of 2 pens that aren't laying anyway.

This is a JG/EE I got from Patricia who hatched from one of ya'lls eggs but I don't know whose. I guess she's around 20 weeks now. Hoping for colored eggs.

and here's Teddy the world's cutest chicken (sorry, Butter) with a friend. She hatched from Beth's eggs and better be a she! She's broody raised and when her momma decided it was time to roost in the big pen again, poor Teddy was left behind so I had to get him some friends. She's a good broody but not at all sentimental unlike my sizzle who is still nesting on the ground with her Langshan chicks which are bigger than her now. I can't get them to roost.
