If your Icelandic hens are anything like mine......

.........you won't need an incubator!! They'll hatch and raise theirs and any others you want them to! Congrats on a beautiful flock. Who did you get them from?

I got them from David Grote and he is a wealth of information . I think he said he's been raising them for 9 years now; so he was one of the early flock owners.

I know of him. He has/had Icelandic sheep and got his flocks from Lyle Behl. Also, he is a talented artist. Great start for you!!

When I said Wow about the $5, you have to remember that I live in Idaho, I think we're one of the cheapest places in the US, LOL, so my perspective is probably tainted, haha.... (that also means that my salary as a nurse with 17 years experience is about 1/2 what it would be in CA or NY, not that I want to live there (no offense to those of you who do, haha).

those Icelandics are sure pretty birds!! There's a guy that lives by me that is breeding them, too.. I think I'm really liking the landrace birds, I love their variety !!

I crunched 4 trying to work on them ;(. I wouldn't use those eggs again but that one sure is a cutie patootie!!
Starting nurses at the hospital are at 25$ an hour or more. I think like 60,000$ a year? I should have kept goin with my degree! 7-8 years ago that's what I was going back to school for... I got a promotion at work and switched majors geared towards my job... I was 6 Lon clinical classes away from finishing my. RN;(. I can always go back . Back then My promotion was paying more... In no time the nurses salary skyrocketed here!!!
