What young adults think is right.

To honor someone by dragging their name to the dirt...
I don't think I understand that train of thought.

Tim Tebow deserves much better than that.

I think that Mr. Tebow's whole point is that it's not he who should be honored; that the honor and glory for the blessings in his life, his talents and abilities, are to be credited to his God, and not to himself.

People that strive to honor him are missing the point.
People that strive to mock him are not harming him; they are missing the point AND being a little silly in the process.

I posted this story because I have been involved in youth sports (definitely not the Sandusky way) for the last 15 years and I see kids emulate thier sports heroes all the time and I thought that is what these kids were doing and I still think that is what they were doing. The fact that they say one thing and mean another is not unusual for boys of that age when asked in a way that puts a spotlight on them which may be the real reason...attention. I am just glad they picked Tim Tebow for whatever reason really over someone like Mike Tyson or Patrick Ewing who the latter boasted of the 20 some illegitimate children he was the donor of.

For the record Tim Tebow does a lot for the youth of this country off the field and never asks for recognition for it so those of you that put him down you might examine your own good deeds. The guy is a great role model. ETA; and yes he happens to be a Christian

Finally, the voice of reason. We are all young at one point and did some crazy things for our role models. Some were good, some bad. Better that than running around calling people names or destroying property.

Now I do agree with this. If they have made him their role model, well all can say is there are worse role models out there. While I don't quite understand the thanking god for winning a sports event thing, I find it a better median of celebration than say, drinking and driving, flipping off the crowd, or other irresponsible activities.

Yup. I say we were all young and stupid at one point. I for sure have done waaayy more stupid things than that. I think there are more severe problems in this world than being upset about something like that. Do something about youth gangs that kill people on the street every day, children using drugs, children in abusive families- that is something I would worry about. Just my humble opinion.

The rationale for thanking God even for the things that seem inconsequential is that according to Christian teaching, God really does care about our every thought and need, and he appreciates it when we acknowledge him in our lives. Not that he grants our every whim, like some sort of super fairy godmother, but he is always available to listen, and craves the love of his created. For those who believe that God created them, and that he loves us as his children, and who are grateful for their lives and for all the blessings therein, this actually makes sense.

I understand the skepticism of those who do not believe in God. My responsibility as a Christian is to treat those who are not with all the respect due to any human being.

For myself, I am convinced by what I have seen and experienced that God is real.

All that being said, on the surface, it looks like suspension might be a little harsh. But they did this three days in a row??? Did they get told not to do it three days in a row and only their continued defiance and obstruction led the administration to this punishment? I seriously doubt that their reaction, whether unreasonable or not, had much to do with persecuting religion. Of course, I could be wrong. I can't see into their heads. But since I believe in God, I guess God can see into all of our heads, and he'll be in a better position than I to sort it out.

Peace, all!

I think this is dumb... this little "faze" would have died down soon... no need to make such a big fuss of a few kids kneeling in the hallway...
Bet in the locker room other kids were in there smoking pot or something, though that got passed by...
