WHAT???

What's happening is peoples home's are being forclosed on and they are having to move into apartments, many of them, and they can't afford the pet deposit or the apartments they can afford won't take pets. Sad story. Everything has a ripple affect. I know the gas prices are hitting us hard. Seems the price of everything is through the roof. Our goal is to have everything we need to live right here on our 10 acres of paradise. Own milk, beef, eggs, chicken, and bountiful garden that we plan on canning the majority of. I think this is a trend you will definately see more of in the future, because we have to.

Aww...so sad!

I can understand that things happen..but it doesn't seem right, does it.
I hope I'll never be in a position where I MUST choose between my pets and a safe place to sleep for me and my familiy.

The one that got me was the couple dropping off their FISH!!! for the Goddess' sake, how hard is it to feed a fish?!!!

There's so much of this going on, that it breaks my heart.
There's tons of pet dumping, that aren't even making it to the shelters...
I KNOW Joe Farmer needs another barn cat...
I KNOW that someone will take in our dog...

I happen to agree with you Trisha...I'd give up everything to keep Obelisk, the Finny Buddies and Sasuke happy and healthy.

I think sometimes people in bad situations get overwhelmed...even feeding a fish may be too much if you're facing foreclosure, losing your car or job...not everyone is terribly resilient, unfortunately.

There but for the grace of God/dess go I, and I hope to never go there!

I agree with you, Florida...

We adopt fish at my Petco if you want to give them up...I've had 8 that I've adopted...I still have 5...

I hearya Hen...

I can see not moving in with a 250 gallon tank, but a 10 shouldn't be too much of a problem...

Saw a story today about middle class homeless signing up to sleep in safe parking lots for the night. People who so recently owned town houses and the such. Times are REALLY getting tough.

We are having a problem with horses being let loose in Norco. People lose their house and don't have a place to put their horses, so they let them go in the riverbed. Very very sad.
