What's for Dinner?

It looks like we're 15 hours behind you. 5:43 am here, still dark, chickens still asleep, and a great horned owl softly hooting outside.
I make bean or lentil soup in the slow cooker. I like to start it before we go out on errands, plus start bread in the bread machine, then come back to a ready meal.

Okay, here's the egg recipe. Our eggs are so good, we like to eat them for dinner....
This is Shakshuka, eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce.
The sauce has tomatoes, olive oil, peppers, garlic....the veggies are from our own garden but in the past I used canned tomatoes. Shakshuka2 (3 of 1).jpg
And there is a freshly baked whole wheat baguette to have with it....

We want to do a vegetable garden aswell but I want to master the chicken thing first.
Geezzz I can't wait to see more of your recipes.

If you find any slow cook recipes please send them to me babe. I'm running out of ideas for my slow cooker.
I'll try to dig out the recipe if I saved it. It was basically stewing beef (make sure it has some fat in it or it will be dry)- I used a cut that is sold here to make beef bourgingnon (beef in red wine) which comes cut in big chunks - about 5x5cm - you could just cook as a flat steak or roast shape (although maybe not as much flavour in the meat with this option. I quickly fried the beef to get some colour then threw it all in with onions, garlic, red peppers (capsicum), tinned tomatoes and taco spices - I dont' think I had a pouch so just used fresh spices.

That looks amazing - I've been meaning to make that for ages - and should take the fresh garden stuff while I have it!
