What's the best way to keep eggs?

What is the right way to keep my freshly laid eggs? Should I clean them and refrigerate them? or just leave them uncleaned at room temperature? How long do eggs last if kept at room temperature?

I have been keeping my eggs at room temperature without cleaning them because I don't want to destroy the bloom, but some have poop on them that won't simply wipe off with a dry paper towel.

Also, it is starting to be winter and temperatures are dropping, if the eggs are cold by the time I collect them in the morning, is it bad to then keep them at room temp inside? or should I put them in the fridge if they're already cold?

They should last 6 weeks at least at room temperature if the bloom is intact.
You can use sandpaper to remove poop - it is a recognized method in the UK egg business.

Leave them at room temperature for 3 days. Wash with warm water, dry then straight into fridge.
