The first time I saw a live fox along a road was on an appropriately named road. The roads name was Fox Hollow road.

Years ago on Interstate 95 near the Florida/Georgia line I saw a large armadillo walking along side of the road. Sitting on his back was a seagull quietly enjoying his ride.

Even many more years ago, when I was a kid traveling to Cape Kennedy, I noticed a large gator sunning himself in a canal along the road. His mouth was gaping, and inside stood a white egret enjoying the shade.

An old guy driving a riding lawnmower down main street. He had a lawnmower trailer hooked to it with an old woman sitting in a lawn chair riding in it.

The craziest thing I've ever seen on the road? That's easy - Wilmington drivers.

A couple of unexpected things I've seen;

Two guys driving down the road in a small car with a tiger in the back seat.

An old man walking in a vacant lot with a giant tortoise.

A few years ago, I was driving on I-95 in Delaware with one of my son's. I had recently got a speeding ticket so I was in the slow lane trying to behave. My son was commenting on my slow driving when all of a sudden he stopped and said "Don't look now but you are about to be passed by the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile." I couldn't let my fear of another ticket get in the way of my pride. I had to speed up and overtake the giant wiener.

I have driven through Wilmington on I 95. I can vouch for the crazy drivers - also the mean Police.

A few years back I was driving down WA 97, and in front of me (with one SUV between us) was a big flatbed semi with a full load of upright porta-potties. The Columbia Gorge is known as the windsurfing capital of the world with good reason... a huge gust came through, causing the flatbed to swing back and forth over the lines, and all of the porta-potties completely wiped out! The SUV was following too close and was knocked off into the ditch by the porta-potties, and I managed to swerve around the whole mess. That same trip I almost hit a deer another 20 miles down the road....it was a dangerous day to go for a drive.
