whats the deal with green or blue eggs?

I have Ameraucanas that lay pretty green and blue eggs, however, they look and taste the same as brown eggs when cracked open to eat.

That chick looks like a buttercup to me. Check the comb.

That chick's about 9 months old now, I'd like to hear what color egg she lays?

We have three mixed hens and one turned out to be an EE. She took forever to lay (probably 3 months longer than the other two hens), her eggs are big and a pale turquoise - maybe XL in size, definitely had the tiny comb until she was just starting to lay and then it changed, her legs looked greenish but it was never a dark green. What is the personality like on the Americana, Auracana, Easter Eggers? I might be trading some of my chickens for some EE and am wondering first about the disposition?

I like sweet - so perhaps these will work out well. I have orpingtons, marans and silkies so maybe the LF EE will fit right in.
