What's the next "Bubble" breed???

With the economy the way it is I think a lot more folks will be looking for standard size egg layers.

As for eye candy I'd love a gold laced Orpington (but the mottleds make me

I'm sorry I can't get into the NNecks....

I think the Marans will continue to be on top for a couple reasons

1) breeding for the dark shell color isn't easy
2) even now that hatcheries are selling them the shell color is poor on a good day
3) back to #1 there will be alot of people having the breed but few that can have the super dark color so they will keep getting top dollar

Oh my! That lafleishe looks like he should be carrying a pitchfork, or maybe a big sword to go with his longboat! (And named Beelzebub or Hagar or Erik the Red or some such)

Are there any other colors of La Fleche in the US? I got my black ones from a breeder and haven't seen any other colors here. Oh, maybe I need to do a lav la fleche

I also think that the marans will be popular for awhile longer. For those same reasons. It's not going to be easy to keep the dark color. Also the color variety in the breed. Not to mention the bantams! Can't wait to get ahold of a few of them! We will see. The La Fleche horns are freekin cool.

In my opinion, which is slightly jaded, the bantam leghorn is the next wave. Hold on you say they aren't new....and you would be right....but i have seen some very interesting birds lately. Check out, if you can find them, the Exchequer, the Columbian / Buff Columbian, any of the Flitters; gold/silver/ bleubrown/browngold... Probably won't be able to find them here but they are coming on in Europe....I'd like to be the first here to have some at a show.
